Shelter News Update – Oct. 2013

wOw! September is gone and here we are in October! What a busy September we had. Our shelter location is the major “hub if you will” for the Indian Mission and we were all as busy as bee’s in a hive (Micah). Micah has taken up bee keeping for a hobby!.

In September we had a total of 10 residents in the shelter who called it home. A family of 3, a family of 2, and and 5 adult males. One male transitioned out of the shelter and returned home to his community, and the family of three just transitioned out of the shelter for new opportunities after their ninety day stay was completed. Currently we have 6 residents (5 adults and 1 child) who are working hard to improve their current life situation and become self-sufficient.

Our Transitional Housing Unit apartment upgrade is almost complete! New paint, new carpets, new light fixtures. Thanks to our Lord for His provisions and thanks to our resident Jimmy who has volunteered his time and labor.

Autumn is here! We are excited about our fall Mission activities! Stay tuned in for our event dates and times. Many thanks to the entire Crandon community who have supported God’s work in the Crandon Community through out the summer.

God Bless Our Crandon Community! – Gene
